Speaking Her Truth

I was thrilled to read Said It. You have developed a publication that is of true value to all of us. I celebrate your willingness to not compromise, not play nice, and to speak the whole truth. Each word that I read is full of wonder for the possibilities that exist for all of us.

I think that for too long I have wondered and worried about speaking my truth. It has seemed too radical, too out there. I realize now that I have been afraid to offend. Being afraid does not serve me or you or anyone else. I have a right to my beliefs and a right to speak about them. I feel compelled to do the work that I do for women. I do not believe that I have all the answers, or that I think or speak with clarity all of the time. I acknowledge that my early socialization really "took" and that I struggle each and every day to live my life my way.

I want to say thank you for this work. This is the good stuff. I would like to squeeze in some time to volunteer. What are your needs? I hope that we can find something for me to do in support of Said It.

Sincerely and with much sisterhood,

Julia Parmenter

verdict: prez is asshole

said it was awesome. the piece on the prez was EXCELLENT. he sure seems like an utter criminal, doesn't he? what with whitewater and sexual harassment and rape and welfare reform and iraq and yugoslavia, he's just your basic asshole, isn't he? I am so sick so sick so sick of him.

anyway, said it looks great. good work! hard work! i'm really looking forward to seeing how it all evolves. hopefully the hate mail has been minimal.

Congratulations

I received the latest Said It yesterday. Congratulations. I didn't know about the Seattle Weekly. What a nightmare. Anyway, the issue was great. Very strong and bold. Thanks for the inspiration.
