Halting the Breeze The Taliban, which continues to destroy the lives of women, has banned all music. Lizzy said, "If the males cannot stand music, they must have also slaughtered all the birds; found a way to halt the breeze; stilled the ocean's rhythms; sealed off the skies so that no gentle rain might fall." Indeed, for the women and girls of Afghanistan, the birds are no longer alive, there is no breeze to feel, and the rain has no place to fall. |
