Legislative Lookout
There's a bill circulating in the state House and another bill in the state Senate that would change the cruel WorkFirst requirement for parents (almost always mothers) to enter the paid work force by the time their infant is 3 months old. The proposed legislation would give moms (and the few dads) up to 12 months before having to leave their infants. Let your state senators and representatives know that you want these bills PASSED, and you want them passed NOW: HB 1275 and SB 5163. MOTHERHOOD IS WORK. NO MORE FREE RIDES, AMERICA.
